With great floorboards already in place, bedroom 1 just needed a little love when it came to decorating. We skimmed the ceiling and prepped it for colour.

I wanted a soothing natural tone for this room, and having fallen in love with @tobyshome bedroom colour, I opted for @coatpaints Debate Club. A deep greige neutral.
I knew it would be the perfect backdrop to the natural wood furniture I’d sourced.

And it was.

The rooms are styled simply, with the @marksandspencer Daphne table lamp bringing a little pop of colour. The multi-function desk can be used as a dressing table or if you need to catch up on a little work while you stay.

And it was worth every second.

The cottage feels like home, it’s cosy and familiar.

Vintage and secondhand purchases means it has a much more sustainable footprint, and it’s saved a fair amount of budget too. Lucky for us as we needed that for the leaky roof!

Everything photographed here is vintage aside from the radiator and fridge.

Highs, lows and everything in between. 2023 has been a crazy one that’s for sure, but we’re still standing.

Transforming @28millgate has been our one big project and huge achievement, especially juggling it around a fantastically funny toddler, a thriving wedding photography business and busy agency role.

She threw us challenge after challenge. Damp, a leaking roof, rotten window frames and delays, delays, delays. But the sense of accomplishment seeing how beautiful she’s become is immense.

We’re excited to jump head first into marketing the cottage and helping more people experience the beauty of North Norfolk.

2024 is already shaping up to be a year of change and growth for us both. Having finally got the old perimenopause under control (thanks HRT, you saved my life), I feel stronger than ever and ready for something BIG.
